The Pebble Beach Community Services District (PBCSD) has been officially recognized by the State of California for its efforts to reduce wildfire risk and strengthen community resilience. Applications submitted by the PBCSD Fire Department were approved for inclusion on California’s 2026 Fire Risk Reduction Communities Listing, effective July 1, 2026, for a two‑year term.

This designation acknowledges communities that demonstrate strong wildfire preparedness, prevention, and mitigation practices. PBCSD’s Community Risk Reduction Team worked closely with partner agencies and forestry professionals to document the extensive measures underway throughout the Del Monte Forest.

Being listed provides meaningful benefits. Recognized communities receive priority for certain state wildfire‑prevention grants, and insurance companies must consider the designation when developing their rating plans. As a result, beginning July 1, 2026, property owners in Pebble Beach may be eligible for reduced fire insurance premiums. Residents should contact their insurance providers to determine eligibility.

PBCSD joins a select group of recognized communities statewide—only 12 counties, 42 cities, and 66 special districts or tribal entities met the state’s rigorous standards for the 2026 listing.
