For over 40 years the Pebble Beach Community Services District (PBCSD) has contracted with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) to provide emergency medical and fire protection services. As a Class 1 rated fire department, the Pebble Beach Fire Department (PBFD) operates out of two fire stations located within Pebble Beach. Firefighters are trained and equipped to respond to structural and wildland fires, perform ocean water rescues, and provide advanced life support during emergency medical response.

In addition, PBFD administers an extensive Fire Prevention program focused on community risk reduction by performing defensible space inspections, providing public education, and managing fuel reduction projects within the Del Monte Forest to safeguard the community against the risk of wildfire
