Tsunami Preparedness Planning Maps
The index map (below) identifies 8 geographical areas within Pebble Beach. The red area on the map identifies the wave inundation zones and all structures located within that area, which is considered the minimum elevation to evacuate to in the event of a tsunami warning.
As studies progress and more is learned regarding the near marine geography off of the Pebble Beach coast line and potential related wave run-up characteristics, it is possible that other areas will be identified as potential primary inundation zones. However, at this time the inundation zone identified on the PBCSD maps is consistent with the current area-wide planning standard tentatively being use by Monterey County Office of Emergency Services.
