Tsunami Preparedness Planning Maps

The index map (below) identifies 8 geographical sections within Pebble Beach. The red line on the map identifies a 10-meter (34-foot) wave inundation area and all structures located within that area. The blue line identifies an elevation of 100 feet, which is considered the minimum elevation to evacuate to in the event of a tsunami warning.

As studies progress and more is learned regarding the near marine geography off of the Pebble Beach coast line and potential related wave run-up characteristics, it is possible that other areas will be identified as potential primary inundation zones. However, at this time the 10-meter inundation zone identified on the PBCSD maps is consistent with the current area-wide planning standard tentatively being use by Monterey County Office of Emergency Services.
