ANNUAL RESIDENTIAL FIRE SAFE REQUIREMENTS

 

 

1.     Roofs and rain gutters must be kept clean of pine needles, leaves and debris.

2.     All dead, dry, combustible vegetation must be cleared a minimum of 30 feet from the structure up to 100 feet or to the property line, which ever is nearer. This includes ornamental as well as native vegetation.

3.     Fire wood should be stacked a minimum of 30 feet away from structures.

4.     A 1/2" mesh screen must be placed over every chimney or stove outlet.

5.     No branches shall come within 10 feet of a chimney or stove outlet.

6.     All dead branches overhanging a house shall be removed.

7.     Address numbers shall be posted a minimum of 4" in height with a 3/8" stroke on a contrasting background and visible from both directions of travel.

8.     Locked gates shall have a knox keyed switch, lock or other acceptable means for rapid Fire Dept. access.

9.     Gate entrances and driveways shall be a minimum of 12 feet wide with 15 feet of vertical clearance.
