Anderson Pacific Engineering Construction (Anderson
Pacific) has made good progress on construction of the project. The contractor completed rough grading work
on 75 % of the interior of the reservoir, installation of 70 % of the concrete
anchor for the lining system along the perimeter of reservoir at the top of the
embankment, fabrication of 50 % of liner off site, truck transfer of 15,000
yards of material from the Spyglass pit, tunnel jacking and boring of the 48-inch
steel casing through the reservoir embankment for the overflow outlet line,
finish grading for the chemical building pad, steel placement for the mixer
structure in the floor of the reservoir, steel placement for the roof of the
outlet structure and commenced construction of the buttress fill on the
exterior toe of the north embankment and rough grading for the energy
dissipation structure located near Sawmill Gulch creek. Installation of the liner is scheduled to
begin in late August. The liner
subcontractor approved the final grading of the embankments for the first phase
of installation.
Representatives of the California Department of Water
Resources, Division of Safety of Dams (DSOD) representatives inspected the
project on four occasions, approved the means and methods for the tunnel boring
operation and observed the drainage blanket installation on the north
embankment and construction of the concrete outlet structure.
District staff and the project engineer are reviewing
costs provided by the contractor for additional work totaling approximately $125,000. Extra work required for the buttress
construction on the exterior of the north embankment is being performed on a
time and materials basis.

attached. Completed work items are indicated
in red. Anderson Pacific has earned
$3,941,967 or 35 % of the revised construction contract amount of
$11,136,531. E2 Consulting Engineers has
earned $382,554 or 39 % of the budget of $978,420 for construction management
services.
