1. Third Priority Fire Protection Water Pipeline Replacement Project

 

A notice of substantial completion was issued to Monterey Peninsula Engineers, Inc. (MPE) for the Third Priority Fire Protection Water Pipeline Replacement Project with the exception of 600 feet of water main line that will be installed in the new access road to the Monterey Peninsula Country Club (MPCC) clubhouse.  This work was added to the contract after the bid award and fieldwork is scheduled for the last week of September to accommodate the MPCC access road construction schedule.  Remaining punch list work items are scheduled to be completed within several weeks.  

 

MPE has earned $1,518,175 or 96 % of the revised contract amount of $1,573,959.  E2 Consulting Engineers has earned $258,461 of the budget of $265,000 for design and construction support engineering services. 

 

2.  2005 Sewer Line Replacement Project

 

D’Arcy and Harty Construction made good progress on the 2005 Sewer Line Replacement Project completing installation of 1500 feet of sewer lines on an easement below Chaparral Road between Congress Road and Colton Road, 350 feet on an easement between Sombrero Road and San Carlos Road and 1,000 feet on Elk Run Road and an easement between Sloat Road and Coyote Road.  The contractor has not made a pay request to date but has completed approximately 50 % of the $526,250 construction contract.  Work on the project will be completed within four to six weeks.  E2 Consulting Engineers has earned $35,364 of the budget of $89,260 for design and construction support engineering services. 

 

3. Pescadero Canyon Fire Road Improvements Project

 

The remaining work item for the Pescadero Canyon fire road improvements project located off 17-Mile Drive across from the entrance to the Carmel Hill Fire Station is installation of erosion control landscaping by the Pebble Beach Company scheduled for completion in October.

 

4. Pump Station SCADA System Improvement Project

 

New instrumentation controls are operating at all eight wastewater pump stations.  Alvarez Technology telephone technicians and instrumentation programmer Doug Buck are completing integration of the new SCADA system with the SBC data network and the District local area computer network.
