         Subject:          Status of Capital Improvement Program Projects

1. Third Priority Fire Protection Water Pipeline Replacement Project

 

Monterey Peninsula Engineers commenced construction of the final segment of the new water pipeline located near Monterey Peninsula Country Club for the Third Priority Fire Protection Water Pipeline Replacement Project.  The remaining field work is scheduled for construction in April. 

 

2.  Fourth Priority Fire Protection Water Pipeline Replacement Project

 

E2 Consulting Engineers continued analysis of the hydraulic computer model for the Pebble Beach water distribution system to identify the highest priority water main lines for inclusion in the Fourth Priority Fire Protection Water Pipeline Replacement Project.  Results of the engineering study will be reviewed at the April Board meeting prior to proceeding with the design of the pipeline improvements. 

 

3.  2006 Sewer Line Replacement Project

 

E2 Consulting Engineers consulted with District maintenance and engineering staff and identified project elements to be included in the design for the 2006 Sewer Line Replacement Project.  Construction documents will be ready for bidding in May.

 

4. Pump Station SCADA System Improvement Project

 

The SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) alarm system is operational with the exception of pump station P-8 (Inn at Spanish Bay) which requires a new telephone line. The existing telemetry alarm system will continue to be used concurrently.  Tesco Controls is scheduled to begin installation this week of instrumentation hardware and software programming required to integrate the Forest Lake Reservoir site, the 2.5 million gallon recycled water storage tank and the Viscaino backup potable water pump station with the District SCADA system.
