of Capital Improvement Program Projects

1. PBCSD Public Facilities Improvement Project
Remaining
punch list items requiring fieldwork were completed on the site facilities
improvement project include installation of lockers and closet doors. Retention of $50,000 of the revised contract amount of $2,956,294 will be released
after submittal of warranties, lien releases and final completion of the
project is achieved. The Paul Davis
Partnership is completing preparation of as-built plans based on contractor
field notes.
2. Forest Lake Reservoir Project
Recommendations to award a construction contract for the
Forest Lake Reservoir project and to retain E2 Consulting Engineers for
construction management services are included in Agenda Item Numbers 15 and
16.
3. Third Priority Fire Protection Water
Pipeline Replacement Project
Monterey
Peninsula Engineering was issued a notice to proceed with construction of the
third priority water pipeline replacement project on January 10th. Installation fieldwork on the new water
lines on upper Viscaino and Sonado Roads is underway.
4. 2005 Sewer Line Replacement Project
A
recommendation to retain E2 Consulting Engineers for engineering services
related to the 2005 Sewer Line Replacement Project is included in Agenda Item No.
18.
5. Pescadero Canyon Fire Road Improvements Project
No appeals
were received for the Monterey County Zoning Administrator approval of the
Pescadero Canyon fire road improvements project located off 17-Mile Drive
across from the entrance to the Carmel Hill Fire Station. Monterey County Building Department is
requiring a geotechnical report be submitted as part of the grading permit
application. Construction fieldwork will
be scheduled in the spring.
6. Pump Station P-7 Wet Well Expansion Project
Mountain Mechanical
Contracting, Inc., performed repairs on the interior of the new 24,000-gallon fiberglass tank to repair a water leak in December. The maintenance department subsequently
reported the presence of ground water in the tank and identified the source of
water in the area of the tank wall recently repaired. The contractor will be required to repair the tank under
warranty.
7. Recycled Water Pipeline Cathodic Protection
System Project
Corrpro
Companies achieved substantial completion after performing field tests of the
cathodic protection system on three sections of the recycled water pipeline
most susceptible to corrosion located in the vicinity of Pebble Beach Golf
Links including areas near the maintenance building and the 10th
green, near the 15th fairway and Whitman Lane and near the driving
range and Forest Lake Road. Corrpro has
earned $95,500 of the $103,000 contract to date. An allocation of $125,000 is included in the reclamation project
budget for this project.
8. Pump Station SCADA System Improvement Project
New instrumentation controls are operating at seven of the wastewater pump stations and are scheduled to be operating at pump station P-3 next week. SBC is in the process of installing the DSL telephone network between each pump station location and has indicated the network should be completed within 2 weeks. Once the DSL network is operating, the new SCADA system will be integrated with the District local area computer network.
9. Sewer Line
Repair at 1470 Cypress Drive
The temporary repair
of the sewer line at the rear of 1470 Cypress Drive performed adequately during
the recent wet weather. Granite
Construction Company will continue to maintain the temporary plastic sheeting
that provides erosion protection in the slide area.
