Subject: Status of Capital Improvement Program Projects

1. Third Priority Fire Protection Water Pipeline Replacement Project

Monterey Peninsula Engineers commenced construction of the final segment of the new water pipeline located near Monterey Peninsula Country Club for the Third Priority Fire Protection Water Pipeline Replacement Project.

2. Fourth Priority Fire Protection Water Pipeline Replacement Project

E2 Consulting Engineers updated the hydraulic computer model for the Pebble Beach water distribution system. Analysis is underway to identify the highest priority water main lines for inclusion in the Fourth Priority Fire Protection Water Pipeline Replacement Project. Results of the engineering study will be reviewed at the April Board meeting prior to proceeding with the design of the pipeline improvements.

3. 2006 Sewer Line Replacement Project

A recommendation to approve an agreement with E2 Consulting Engineers for engineering services for the 2006 Sewer Line Replacement is included in Agenda Item Number 11.

4. Pump Station SCADA System Improvement Project

The SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system has been integrated with the District local area computer network. The SCADA alarm system is operational and will be used concurrently with the existing telemetry alarm system for six to eight weeks. Tesco Controls scheduled a factory test earlier this week for software programming that will integrate Forest Lake Reservoir improvements with the District SCADA system as well as several reclamation project locations including the 2.5 million water storage tank and the Viscaino backup potable water pump station.
