Open House Summary 2009

The District’s annual Public Safety Day and Open House was held on Saturday, June 20, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

This year the emphasis was on green living and green construction, with a variety of professionals in the fields of fire protection, emergency care, wastewater disposal, solid waste disposal and recycling was available to share valuable information. Residents had the opportunity to walk through an area of exhibits where you can meet the various vendors, Del Monte Forest organizations, American Red Cross and other public safety participants who provided, literature and answer at first hand any questions about their services or community activities. 

Fire Department staff provided a children's "hands-on" experience on fire safety as well as other household and safety practices. This year the, "Kids Corner" was once again coordinated by Fire Captain, Jennifer Valdez and Firefighter Mary Lou Young teaching about the various components of home fire safety. In addition a professional face painter  was available  to create smiles and fun for children.

The Pebble Beach Fire Department provided training/demonstrations on the proper use of fire extinguishers. Fire Department Paramedics were also available to provide free blood pressure checks.

The PBCSD Staff members that were involved with the coordination of the Open House and Public Safety Day are happy to report another successful event.
