CERT

Immediately following a disaster, the number and scope of incidents can quickly overwhelm professional emergency services. Traditionally, CERT teams are trained to provide first aid and disaster mitigation until professional emergency responders are available. CERT Teams can also be utilized to provide incident support functions and assist at public safety/education community events.

CERT MISSION

The Pebble Beach Community Emergency Response Team promotes partnering between response agencies and the people of the community. If there is a natural or manmade event that delays the community's professional responders, Pebble Beach CERT members can help save and sustain lives by utilizing their CERT skills.

CERT INFO

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available. You also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.
